Regency style mirror
This 6' wide and 8' 3 1/2" high custom designed mirror is in the high Regency style with deep carving throughout, and a 4' wide by 15 1/2" high detailed crown.
The frame is 1 1/4 thick by 5 1/4" wide, and is banded with 3/8" wide gilded moldings to off set the extensive carved and gilded carvings. The extensively carved frame has overlaid shell carvings with trailing vine detailing and a lower center carved accent as well as curved corners on the upper frame with additional carved accents.
The entire frame is undercoated in black, gilded with yellow gold and carefully distressed and rubbed through for an antique effect. It is then given a rich patina to further ennoble and age it.
It is located in the dining rood of a home with 22' ceilings in Southlake Texas and creates a marvellous aura of depth and scintillating light in the room.

We build custom furniture and period reproductions, both French and English. We also do period antique restoration using hide glue for joinery and veneer restorations.
